First Shabbat!

Tonight we had our first Shabbat… Wayy different from camp or anything I’ve ever experienced! It started raining here today, and we had orientations for Hebrew and Jewish history all day. I have an AWESOME Jewish history teacher named David. He’s about 70 years old and has lived in Israel since the 60s, so he’s seen it all and he most definitely knows what he’s talking about. I’m really excited for that class, it should be a lot of good fun and we’re going to learn sooo much. I already got homework, but you all know me, I’ve done most of it already. It’s so weird using the tanakh as a textbook… Like, it’s so awesome and cool but it’s gonna take some getting used to.

Chilling in the Zoola with wifi! About to go do some Jewish history homework. I’ll post pics tomorrow!

Greetings from the Zoola!

I’M HERE!!!! :) We made it! I honestly can’t believe it! The flight was long, but I slept for most of it. We’re here on Kibbutz Tzuba, chilling in what’s called the Zoola, a lounge like thing. All of it is still so surreal! I am so excited to see the country though. It’s bound to be an awesome semester!

I’ll post a picture later! :)

“It’s not like I’m leaving for four months or anything…”

Packing! Not necessarily the best task in the world, but I gotta pack to get there, right? God, this is all SO surreal. I mean, yes there have been tears and emotional goodbyes and whatnot, but it still hasn’t hit me.. And I don’t think it will until I actually get there. This is something I’ve wondered about, dreamed of, for almost 2 YEARS. 2 years, and finally it’s here. I honestly can’t believe it.

Next blog will be from the holy land! See you all in four months!
